Art production took objects and saints from Sergipe to Rio de Janeiro. The reproduction of the floor of the streets of Laranjeiras, in Sergipe, made of fiberglass by artisans from Sergipe, stood out. Everything was built in an area of 10,000m², in Guaratiba, in Rio de Janeiro. The fictional Santana do Agreste was made up of 46 buildings, 2 churches, 8 streets, 2 squares, an abandoned circus and 15 ruins. Íris Gomes da Costa researched expressions mentioned in Jorge Amado’s work and colloquial terms from the region, so that the characters could speak with an accent and use the Northeastern vocabulary. More than a thousand costumes were designed for the soap opera. It had the participation of Betty Faria, Joana Fomm, José Mayer, Reginaldo Faria, Lídia Brondi, Yoná Magalhães, Marcos Paulo and Arlete Sales. It was directed by Reynaldo Boury, Ricardo Waddington and Luiz Fernando Carvalho and general director and nucleus of Paulo Ubiratan. Written by Aguinaldo Silva, Ricardo Linhares and Ana Maria Moretzsohn, it was freely inspired by the novel Tieta do Agreste, by Jorge Amado. It was the 41st “ soap opera of eight ” shown by the broadcaster, replacing O Salvador da Pátria and being replaced by Rainha da Sucata. Tieta is a Brazilian telenovela produced by Rede Globo and originally broadcast from Augto Main 196 chapters.
